Centro de Estudos de Carbono em Agricultura Tropical (CCARBON)
In agricultural systems, soil health refers to the soil’s ongoing ability to remain balanced chemically, physically, and biologically, supporting processes that create a favorable environment for plant growth. Healthy soils are resilient to environmental stresses and provide stable production over time. However, soil health can’t be measured by just one parameter but is indirectly assessed through dynamic chemical, physical, and biological indicators sensitive to management. The SOHMA Soil Health Kit offers a set of methods for direct, in-field evaluation of these indicators, delivering immediate, easy-to-interpret results, low cost, and no environmental waste. These indicators support decision-making and are correlated with standard lab results.
