Project Title
Mapping inter-relationships between institutions for consolidation of CCARBON innovation strategies
Abstract
CCARBON’s mission is to develop innovative solutions and strategies for carbon-based sustainable tropical agriculture, contributing to climate change mitigation and improved livelihoods. The CCARBON Innovation Plan is structured around five strategic pillars: (i) Structuring of the Innovation Ecosystem; (ii) Development of Public–Private Partnerships; (iii) Entrepreneurship Promotion; (iv) Discovery and Technology; and (v) International RD&I Partnerships. For these strategies to materialize into actionable tools, technologies, and solutions that benefit society, it is essential to articulate the network of stakeholders that influence or are influenced by CCARBON’s activities. This requires mapping actors, institutions, ongoing initiatives, areas of expertise, and societal demands, ensuring transparent, informed, and integrative decision-making processes. Stakeholder engagement is fundamental for strengthening innovation pathways and for aligning CCARBON’s strategic actions with concrete societal needs. The postdoctoral researcher will lead the systematic stakeholder mapping and analysis necessary to consolidate CCARBON’s innovation ecosystem, identifying interconnections, opportunities for collaboration, existing gaps, and strategic directions for innovation-driven impact. Finally, the researcher will led an investigation on the opportunities to develop a science-based, robust mechanism of testing and validating innovative solutions to quantify carbon emissions and sequestration in different agricultural activities, positioning CCarbon as key player for improving innovations in the startup-companies interaction.
Project Description and Objectives
The postdoctoral researcher will be primarily responsible for:
-To map and categorize all actors and stakeholders relevant to the CCARBON innovation ecosystem.
-To characterize stakeholders according to research and innovation lines, alignment with CCARBON’s mission, roles, levels of influence, and interaction potential.
-To identify ongoing or planned initiatives, institutional capabilities, and societal demands.
-To execute benchmarks activities in other reference players/organizations.
-To propose strategies to strengthen collaboration, foster innovation, and support decision-making processes within CCARBON.
-To work in alignment with the consultancy company and innovation staff to develop and implement the Innovation strategy and ensure deployment of the action plan through the Center structure.
